With the aim of promoting the new EEA Grants 2021–2028 programming period in Greece and further strengthening bilateral cooperation with Norway, the National Focal Point participated in a series of working meetings in Oslo, accompanying the Secretary General for NSRF, Ms Vasiliki Pantelopoulou.
The visit marks the transition from the phase of strategic planning to the finalisation of the new programmes to be implemented during the 2021–2028 period.
During the visit, high-level meetings were held with representatives of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, research and academic institutions, innovation organisations and local government bodies, confirming the strong interest in further developing cooperation between Greek and Norwegian entities.
Particular emphasis was placed on:
🔹 finalising the design of the new programmes,
🔹 developing strategic partnerships between the two countries,
🔹 making use of the opportunities offered by the Fund for Bilateral Relations,
🔹 creating new synergies in the fields of research, innovation, social inclusion, culture and sustainable development.
The meetings reaffirmed the strong interest in building new partnerships between Greek and Norwegian organisations, to exchange knowledge, make use of good practices and develop joint initiatives with meaningful and lasting impact.
The EEA and Norway Grants are more than a funding instrument. They are a mechanism for building trust, strengthening bilateral relations and promoting common solutions to contemporary social, environmental and development challenges.
As we enter the new EEA Grants 2021–2028 programming period, we remain committed to building strong partnerships that will contribute to sustainable development, social cohesion and the wellbeing of local communities in both countries.
