Integrating gender in interdisciplinary research
The project entitled “Gender-IN: Integrating Gender in Interdisciplinary Research” strengthens mutual learning between scholars and researchers in Norway and Greece on the systematic integration of a gender perspective in research. This approach has recently become a core requirement of EU funding mechanisms, aiming to enhance research quality, relevance, and scientific excellence.
The project addressed the six interdisciplinary research clusters of Horizon Europe: Health; Culture, Creativity, and Inclusive Society; Civil Security for Society; Digital, Industry, and Space; Climate, Energy, and Mobility; and Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment.
Within this framework, the Greek Association of Academic Women (ELEGYP), in close collaboration with Kilden – the National Knowledge Centre for Gender Perspectives and Gender Balance in Research, implemented the following activities:
- Six online webinars, one for each Horizon Europe research cluster, attracting 522 registrations and 290 active participants.
- Eleven in-person workshops in Athens and Thessaloniki, with 243 registrations and 115 participants.
- One final conference held at Panteion University.
- Six thematic reports, corresponding to the six Horizon Europe research clusters, focusing on the integration of gender perspectives in interdisciplinary research.
