Functioning national asylum and migration management systems ensured and the right to seek asylum safeguarded
The Programme contributed to ensuring legal protection, support, and care for the most vulnerable asylum seekers, with an emphasis on unaccompanied children. The goal of the programme was to ensure the functioning of national asylum and migration management systems, including voluntary return, and to protect the right to seek asylum through the competent services. The “Asylum and Migration” program (Addressing urgent needs for the reception and registration of asylum seekers and the housing of vulnerable groups) was structured around four outcomes:
- Outcome 1: “Improved quality of accommodation and other services provided at open reception centers”
- Outcome 2: “Enhanced capacity of responsible organizations to ensure the protection of vulnerable asylum seekers, particularly unaccompanied minors”
- Outcome 3: “Improved procedures and enhanced capacity of the Greek committees for asylum services and appeals”
- Outcome 4: “Secured voluntary return of migrants or other vulnerable groups”
