Good Governance, Accountable Institutions, Transparency

Integrity and accountability of public administration improved

The programme has increased transparency and accountability in public administration by transitioning to digital services. It provides citizens with immediate access to public administration, modernize its technology, reduce bureaucracy, and fight corruption. The programme has funded actions for the following entities:

(1) The Greek Ombudsman: The project has strengthened the Ombudsman’s capabilities to enhance good governance, accountability, and combat maladministration in the public sector. This includes human resources and infrastructure improvements, along with an awareness campaign called “Ombudsman: Safety Net”, whose core ingredients, values and content you can watch here.

(2) The National Transparency Authority: This project has enhanced accountability, integrity, and transparency in public life. It has supported the implementation of high-priority reforms such as strengthening the National Framework for Public Integrity and improving processes for the recovery and management of assets derived from criminal activity.

(3) The e-Citizen Service Centers (CSCs): The project has provided targeted digital and intangible interventions to support the digital transformation of public administration. This includes activities, such as project management, communication and engagement, optimization of the CSC network, implementation of electronic signatures, development of the CSC Information System, and the strengthening of CSC employees.
