In a venue filled with light, history, and positive energy, the festive closing event of the 2014–2021 EEA Grants funding period in Greece took place on June 17, 2025 — an evening dedicated to the people who carried out this important work with integrity, commitment, and collective effort.

The event brought together partners from the Donor States, representatives of political leadership, project promoters, members of the public and private sectors, civil society organisations, and the Embassies of Norway and Iceland. It was both a moment of reflection and a celebration of the collaboration that has flourished over the years across a wide range of policy areas — from good governance and social inclusion to research, innovation, and environmental protection.

At the heart of the evening were the stories of the people themselves — those who took part in the programmes. The spotlight was on trust, meaningful collaboration, and the human bonds that were formed. The focus shifted to the real protagonists: the people behind the projects, the communities that benefited, and the relationships that were built.

In heartfelt speeches, speakers shared genuine reflections on the path we walked together. The role of an innovative public administration was highlighted, along with the impact of the projects — but most of all, the legacy this funding period leaves behind for the future.

The evening closed with a sunset and music — but above all, with the sense of a community that is not saying goodbye, but rather continuing the journey, stronger and more connected. With new foundations for collaboration in the 2021–2028 period, and the same spirit of trust that lies at the core of the EEA Grants.
