The proposed project concerns the supply, transportation, and commissioning of a prefabricated portable seawater desalination unit with multiple treatment stages, with a minimum total capacity of 600 m3/d of potable desalinated water, as well as the construction of the necessary supporting infrastructure for the operation of the unit.

The project is expected to substantially support the existing water supply network of the Municipality, which presents significant problems after periods of no rain and especially during the summer season, responding with difficulty to the needs of residents and visitors.

At the same time, the proposed project aims to protect the environment applying the most mature and modern water treatment technologies, taking into account the parameters of climate change and the energy footprint of conventional desalination units.
