EEA GRANTS 2014-2021: Signature of the Project Contract for the Predefined Project entitled “Improving Hellenic Police capacity to identify and manage unaccompanied minors and vulnerable groups”.

In the context of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 (EEA Grants), the European and Development Programmes Management Agency of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, acting as the Programme Operator of the Programme GR-G “Capacity Building of National Asylum and Migration Management Systems”, issued on 5/7/2022 the Project Contract for the Predefined Project entitled “Pre Defined Project 6- Improving Hellenic Police capacity to identify and manage unaccompanied minors and vulnerable groups”.

The project budget is 600.000,00 EUR and it will be implemented by the Hellenic Police Headquarters of the Ministry of Citizen Protection. The implementation of the predefined project aims toward the capacity of first-line police practitioners in the identification of vulnerable groups of migrants.

In particular, the Project will contribute to the early and successful identification of vulnerable groups of migrants early in the asylum procedure (with particular emphasis on unaccompanied minors and youngsters separated from their families), the assessment of their needs, and their preparation for the later stages of the asylum procedure, through the following activities:

  • development of training curriculums;
  • development of indicators handbook;
  • development of e-learning platform;
  • training of first-line Hellenic Police officers working within the Reception and Identification Centers in vulnerability identification, through the use of training simulators.

The Project will be implemented in partnership with the Center of Security Studies (KEMEA) which acts as the Project Partner.
